Name: L'shak Cthoguggolog (Mostly known only as Shifter/The Rider)
Race: Aetherian
Age: 300
Biography:
The baby that came out of the Clanmother of the Cthoguggolog on that stormy afternoon was not, in fact, a baby. While most newborn bore horns, tentacles or several thousands of different appendages that were common among Aetherians, the young L'shak was nothing more than a blob of organic matter, silent and still, if not for a constant pulsation coming from his... Body? Although surprised his parents, and the other Clan Elders knew exactly what that thing was, a boy born with the unusual ability of taking the form of any living creature.
It was not an auspicious time to be born, that very next day one of the King's Tax Collectors came around with an entourage of undead guardsmen to get the child. The King had heard news on it's birth and, having developed a certain interests on possible uses for the kid's Gif, promptly ordered the child brought to the Capital. Thus the L'shak's fate was decided, the young Aetherian was raised and trained by the very men (or corpses of those) that would have done so with his son, if he had not died at a young age.
Shifter, as they started calling him on court, grew and learned under the watchful eye of the Lich himself, there he mastered his personal ability and many others, be it martial or political. Through his youth the Aetherian suffered all kinds of torture, from days starving to months living in a dungeon filled with undead kittens meowing and meowing in constant sorrow, but he was constantly told by the Lich that if, as a mortal, he wanted to serve he would need to go through those "transformations".
At the age of 18 he was apparently ready for his last Corruption, and after it, to serve with pride under the Lich King as the only Aetherian to have received such treatment. "Zack" ordered him go to a small village a bit distant to the capital and to put it to the torch, every men, women and child to be slain in cold blood, and the bones of two specific individuals to be brought back to court.
He came hooded down the road, bearing an elven face he had seen a long time ago in the books of history, one he had grown fond of. They were outside, practicing a ritual perhaps? Shifter would never now; he took them unprepared, and slaughtered the Clan, with axe, spear, claw and fang. The last one, the Clanmother, he took by the neck and looked deeply into her eyes, deep inside them he saw a glimmer... It could have meant something to him, if he had not already tired of the mission; so he made a quick job of her, took her and her husband's bones and went back to the castle. These days Shifter has a spear made from those bones, he knows not what special significance of it, and does not care to discover why. He was raised to serve and so he does, without a thought of opposition or sentiment...
