Mordinian read down the list, nodding slowly as he did. "Excellent, we can work with this. The life users should be near the center of the group, too valuable, but the rest can be trained. Thank you, Adaan." Mordinian set the list down on the table of maps and let out a quiet hum. "We're ready to go."

Harkon entered. "Who wants to give a speech? Anyone have something memorable for the historians? We could quote Hel'thor at the Battle of Twin Peaks. 'I have but one life to give, so only a few hundred of yours should even the tally.'" Harkon chuckled at the joke. "I always liked that story. Grandfather was an officer and healer in that battle. If he had lived another hundred years, my family'd be in the Assembly, not... well... here. Anyway... speech?"

Mordinian gave a quick chuckle, followed by a slow stretch. "We'll try to keep the necessity of those moments to a minimum, hopefully. Think of it this way, at least. We hit the surface and you can take your spot in the Assembly by prestige alone, or form our own."

Harkon laughed. "Trust me, I have every intention of basking in the shade of your greatness, Lord Solus."

Ashultas stares at his brother, and absentmindedly scratches at one of the runes tattooed on the back of his wrist, he can't really think of anything to say.

"We'll all have names taught for millenia when this is done. Who knows, maybe we find one of the runes lost so long ago." With a shrug, Mordinian cleared his throat and headed out of the tent with a mumbled "Speeches..."

"If you insist..." Adaan spoke up as he looked to harkon, clearing his throat as he looked around the room, "There's a lot one could say or recall from books and history, about great speeches. But in my experience, history can do the heavy lifting in making these words clean and inspirational..." He said as his eyes looked to those who have gathered here, "We all have our reasons for being here, and we all know them full well...Some of us won't come back...others, will wish they never did..." He said plainly as he closed his eyes, letting out a held breath before he continued.
"But there's only one path for us now. Only one course of action that will make any of this worth while. We move forward, to the surface, and beyond. We march through the horrors the land above holds, and we push ahead through it all, no matter how many of us fall, to make it there..." He said as he pointed back the way they had come, "Because the only way any loss or hardship is worth it, any beautiful sight or horrifying vision becomes remembered, is if you make this trek, and return to tell the tale. Than, a writer of history can write your words and reasoning for why you did what you did, Inspire others to reach for greatness, as the words of old did for you."

Mordinian paused at the exit of the tent, turning to stare at Adaan with an amused look across his face. After a few seconds, he raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Marvelous, but the speeches are intended for those outside of the command structure. The key point I noticed in all of that is that you're under the assumption we plan to return. This is an expedition to settle, not explore. Chances are even the bodies won't make it back."

"I suppose that's one way to look at it..." Adaan said as he looked to Mordinian with a nod, "Though I doubt many will find motivation to live, if the promise they get is to die unfound and unremembered on the surface. Settlement or not." He said as he made his way towards the exit of the tent, pausing as he gave a grim knowing smile towards Mordinian, "And believe me, they'll need all the motivation they can get, for what they're going to face." He concluded before he left past the older firstborn, to give his speech as he had given it to those gathered, to the large host they would be working with outside.

Adaan CHA: 21 (Bonus given for 'preaching to the choir')
The crowd cheers excitedly. One young woman stands up and says she'll follow Lord Zephyren all the way to the homeland. Many agree with her.
Harkon's men clap too, though whether out of obligation or excitement is difficult to determine.
