Shifter: 27 Kuum: 30
Shifter was not quiet enough, and the movement quickly ceased.. Very likely, Kuum already had known where he was. After all, this masquerade was for his benefit. Still, rare was the Aetherian who could mystify AND simply fly away. They were still very close.

"Focus..." Shifter sniffed and tasted the air, experiencing all flavors and smells around the place. He had been through worse occasions, living nightmares brought to earth by his tutor. He knew he could do it, this Kuum was no more than a mere child next to his master.

Shifter: 29 Kuum: 34
Shifter could smell and taste something in the air, but not hear or notice anything peculiar, except...
Shifter: 40 Kuum: 20
...the spear flying past his head and landing with an ignoble 'clink' on the floor. It was not a terrible throw by most standards, but Shifter's enchanced senses gave him a distinct advantage in that moment. He also now had a direction for his prey.

The feline grinned, licking his teeth he went for the strike towards the invisible foe. His strong legs propelled him in a leap in the targets direction, he'd pierce his enemy down with his claw and rip out with his sharp teeth whatever member or piece of flesh he managed to bite, he did no go for the kill... There were some questions that Kuum might have the answer to.

Shifter: 33 Kuum: 23
Shifter pierces the illusion, taking hold of something soft and lean...
Shifter: 38 Kuum: 23
...something that stands almost no chance without weapon in hand. The illusion drops immediately, the town returning to untouched but deserted condition and Kuum being revealed as a half-clothed girl whose look is more deadly than anything she can do to Shifter.
She writhed in his arms, changing faces from dead Roj to old Fenmir to something like L'shak's elf form, but it is to no avail. The illusionist's act is over.

"Where is Fenmir?" Shifter growled, taking back the elven form without letting go of Kuum.

She merely spits at him.

Shifters arm turned into a tentacle and started to slowly compress the girl's body.
"Where is my spear?" He spoke gently, with just a little tone of malice in his voice.

"How the hell do I know, you unbelievable piece of wormshit? I hope someone picked it up and buried it sox feet beneath the ground, or tossed it in the sea, or better yet, sends it through your spineless body and hits whatever you have instead of a heart!" Eventually, Shifter realizes she's nearly blind, explaining the terrible spear toss.

Shifter just grinned in return.
"Where is Roj's body?" He spoke softly again, tightening a little more only to make the girl breath a little faster.

The slip of a girl squirms in his grasp, but is no less defiant. "Why do you want to know? Do you think you left your spear in my brother's neck, you kinslaying, oathbreaking, clanbreaking punkass bitch? You come in here, thinking you're this big, bad shapeshifter, but you know what? You're not that special. If we wanted you dead, you'd be dead, and the only reason you're still alive is because you've got such a short leash. So woof woof, doggy! Sniff it out yourself! Maybe you'll find your balls in the process!!"

"You've got one big dirty mouth for some little girl." Shifter chuckled.
"But since you got on the matter... Do you know how dogs are trained?" His eyes straing deep into hers, not smiling at all as his mouth did.

"Yeah, they're raised from birth and taught nothing but to obey their master with their tail wagging between their legs. Sound familiar?"

"Exactly... But the process that this teaching is achieved through, do you know it?" He eased the grip, maybe it would help her think.
"No cheating, darling. Trust me, as you said, this is a matter a understand like few do." In his voice a passion like no other could be heard...

She merely gave him a sneer, but it was clear she did not know where he was going with this line of questioning.
