"Such a shame... But I won't lie, I guessed you wouldn't get it right, like your brother you don't seem to have much up there." Shifter smiled and, with his free hand, tapped the girl on the head, just like a little pup.
"The answer would be, darling... REPETITION!" He said in a maniac's tone, completly diferent from the one he was using before. With a quick motion of his tentacle, he threw Kuum's fragile body against one of the abandoned house's wall.
Quickly he approached the girl and again wrapped his tentacle around her.
"So... Where is Fenmir?" His voice was gentle again.

"Please..." She cries, struggling against the tentacle. "I don't know... I really don't..."

Shifter recognizes the pathetic lies.

"Wrong answer." He said bluntly, applying more pressure to the grip.
"Where is my spear?"

"I. Don't. Know."
Shifter is canny enough to realize she doesn't care enough about his spear to lie about it, and genuinely doesn't know.

Shifter felt the anger rising inside him, he refused to belive he had lost such a gift. But he wouldn't let this get in the way of his interrogation, he took a deep breath and cotinued.
"Where is Roj's body?"

Kuum simply lifts her slender hands and points across the square, towards a large cairn of rocks marked by some sort of cross in the distance.

"Good..." Shifter smiled, he was getting pleased.
"And how are dogs trained?"

She snorted in derision, wrestling against his tentacle. "Why? Are you looking for a date, Royal Emissary? Because I'm not your bitch."

"And I thought you were making a progress..." Shifter sighed disappointed. "Let's go through it again, now with more incentive. Remember, darling, it's all about the repetion."
Again he threw her against the wall, quickly wrapping her back up with his tentacle. Now he left one of her arms out of the coilings, this one he grabbed by the wrist with his spare hand.
"Where is Fenmir?" The Aetherian smiled, he wanted to make clear to her the image of his teeth growing sharper.

(No roll required. Shifter has no reason to doubt her.)
"Far away... You were knocked out a long time. Fenmir had a lot of opposition in sparing you. My father thought we should kill you. Someone else thought we should take you to Madame Luveria, maybe get a reward. Someone even suggested the Collector might be interested, but we couldn't figure out how to keep you alive but harmless the entire trip. But Fenmir knew you weren't the real threat. You're just a brute. You can't turn iron into gold or create illusions or see the future. You can't move the weather or make the mountains dance for you. You're a puppet with so many parts. So we spared you, as we knew your master was once an honorable man. What are you going to do, chase after us? Fenmir won't let you wake up next time..."

"There won't be a next time..." Shifter threatened. The words she spoke angered him, not because they were true, but because he hated having it thrown to his face. At least the ordeal was over, he could dispose of the girl now; he looked at her and gave a soft smile, his eyes again not matching his expression.
"You see girl, you are right about this... I'm a hound in everything but the name. When I was younger I hated the hole idea; I would always try to see myself as a pupil, the chosen one to succeed his master..." He shrugged. "But no. Of course not. It didn't take long for me to realize the truth: I was no more then a pawn in the King's big game of things, the only difference between me an most of his servants is a chunk of flesh covering my bones."
"When I went down from the castle that night... The night you all like to talk about... I knew exactly what I was doing, I knew who were those that the bones of my spear came from. And a did it without second thought. Do you know why?" He gave a little pause. "Because I couldn't care less. Because those you call parents meant no more to me then that troglodyte brother of yours, or you, or Fenmir... You are nothing, they were nothing, I am nothing."
"And you know?!? This is the only life I've ever known, the only emotion I've ever felt was misery, pain and anger. My master knew this, he knew it would make me what I am now..." He grinned maniacally now, his tentacle compressing at it's maximum now, Shifter did not intend for the girl to survive.
"A puppet..." He whispered in her ear as he felt her bones cracking.

Kuum manages to murmur a single word with the last wisp of air through her crushed throat.
"...ring..."

"It's a beautiful one." He said about her last whisper, eying his master's new prize around his finger.
Shifter carried her body to the side of Roj's cairn. Which he started to unmake stone by stone.

The grave is not at all deep. Roj was at least eight feet tall, and the burial was certainly rushed. What's left of him is covered in a white sheet.

Shifter removed the ring, he'd certainly lose it in case he shapeshifter with it on his finger. He searched for a pocket in Kuum's clothing and there he guarded it safely.
The shifting transformed him into a big four legged draconic creature. He grabbed both corpses with his claws and set flight back to the castle.
